Safety & privacy
Clear about what we do, and what we don't.
Reassurance should never cost your parent their privacy or their dignity. Here is exactly where the line sits.

What Family Observatory does
- Sends your parent scheduled coordination prompts.
- Records their response: "Yes, I can take it," "Not this time," or no response.
- Shows those responses to the family members you invite.
- Sends reminders, and notifies your chosen contacts if a request is missed.
What it does not do
- No cameras and no microphones. Nothing watches or listens in the home.
- No location tracking. We don't follow where your parent goes.
- No passive monitoring. The only data is the request response your parent chooses to send.
- We never sell personal information, and we don't share it beyond the family members you invite.
Who can see what
Only the family members you invite can see your parent's request status. Your parent stays in control of their participation, and can ask to pause or stop at any time.
Important: this is not a medical or emergency service
Family Observatory is a family coordination service. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a monitoring, emergency, or medical-alert service.
Family Observatory does not contact emergency services and cannot detect a fall, a medical event, or an emergency. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
It does not replace professional caregivers, medical care, medical-alert devices, or regular contact with your family member. You remain responsible for your family's care and escalation decisions.
Keeping data safe
We collect only what's needed to run the requests and keep your family informed, and we don't ask for medical details to sign up. Please don't send medical information, account numbers, or passwords through our forms.
Our privacy commitments
Our full privacy policy and terms of service are being finalized with legal review before launch. This page describes our intended approach and will be updated as those documents are completed. Nothing here is a legal guarantee or a statement of regulatory compliance.
